Mexico move to ninth in world standings.


With the recent Gold Cup triumph, Mexico has moved into the top ten in the latest FIFA rankings. El Tri slipped into ninth, just behind Croatia and ahead of Argentina.

The United States, losing finalist in that competition, slipped two spots to 24th place.

Other CONCACAF nations to receive a boost after solid Gold Cups include Jamaica (up 27 to 38th), Panama (up 15 to 52nd), Costa Rica (up one to 55th), El Salvador (up 15 to 72nd), Trinidad and Tobago (up five to 90th), and Guatemala (up six to 118th).
