Mexico to face USA at 7 tonight in volleyball (Via Imperial Valley Press)

The Pan American Cup men’s under-19 volleyball tournament tipped off at the Auditorio del Estado on Monday here.

The tournament features two groups with Pool A featuring Brazil, Costa Rica and Puerto Rico. Pool B has host Mexico, USA and Trinidad and Tobago.

The tournament is set to conclude Saturday, according to the Confederacion de Norte America, Centro America y el Caribe Web site, ww.norceca.org. The tournament tipped off Monday with Mexico beating Trinidad and Tobago, 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-11, and Brazil beat Costa Rica, 3-0 (25-6, 25-8, 25-10.

On Tuesday, Puerto Rico was set to face Costa Rica and USA was to face Trinidad and Tobago.

Tonight, Brazil will face Puerto Rico at 5 p.m. and Mexico will face USA at 7 p.m.

According to the Web site, admission is free. The Auditorio del Estadio is located inside Ciudad Deportiva, home to Los Aguilas de Mexicali stadium Casas Geo.
