UFC Fighter Spotlight: Diego Sanchez

Diego Sanchez, also known as “The Nightmare,” is a Mexican-American who fights in the welterweight division of the UFC. The 5’11”, 170 pound Sanchez has a background in karate, wrestling and Gaidojutsu (a style developed by his trainer).

Sanchez was the winner of the first season of The Ultimate Fighter reality series after defeating Kenny Florian in the tournament finals. He holds notable victories over Florian, Jorge Santiago, Nick Diaz, Karo Parisyan, Joe Stevenson, Clay Guida, Paulo Thiago, and Martin Kampmann.
In his next bout, Sanchez will meet UFC Hall of Famer and former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes at UFC 135.
