Both U.S. and Mexico fans cheer for Chicharito

“Chicharito is the X factor now; he’s an outright goal scorer. The main reason he scores goals is the types of runs he makes. He gets that half-yard on defenses. He pulls away from his defender better than anybody," said former U.S. international and ESPN television analyst Taylor Twellman.

It seems like a played-out sentiment, but Javier Hernandez very well be the most popular player on the field, including the United States, during the Gold Cup final.

Hernandez just finished an incredible first season with Manchester United, scoring 20 goals in all competitions. He was so trusted by manager Sir Alex Ferguson by the end of the season that he was preferred over Dimitar Berbatov. For El Tri, Hernandez scored 19 goals in 26 appearances, including two goals at the 2010 World Cup, and five tallies during the just-completed group stage at the Gold Cup.

Chicharito is riding a fantastic 2010/2011 season and I expect the trend to continue Saturday night in Pasadena.
