Junior Dos Santos considered slight favorite against Cain Velasquez

With all this Gold Cup action happening, it seems that UFC 131 went somewhat unnoticed given its potential to produce a MMA heavyweight masterpiece. Junior Dos Santos easily dominated heavyweight Shane Carwin to earn a shot at the title. Dos Santos (13-1) will face Mexican-American Velasquez (9-0) for the title of heavyweight champion, probably in November. For Velasquez, this will be his first title defense and for Dos Santos this will be his first title shot.

MMA insiders are giving Dos Santos the slight edge, due to the shoulder injury Velasquez sufford during the Lesnar fight. His surgery was successful, but some say the time off could prove detrimental against the active Dos Santos. It will be hard to match Dos Santos' speed, but Velasquez is a world-class wrestler and has unbelievable power. No matter what corner you are cheering for, this should be a great fight.
