Chavez: "I will be the first Mexican champ at 160 pounds"

During the pre-fight interview circuit for the middleweight title clash between WBC champion Sebastian Zbik and Challenger Julio Ceasr Chavez Jr., some very bold statements were made.

Chavez said: "In this fight I will leave it all in the ring and I promise war. I have trained like I have never trained before. This will be a great fight for the fans. I have dreamed of this since I first started boxing and I am excited to finally have the opportunity (to fight for a title)."

Chavez later stated, "I have a great team and I am very well prepared for this fight. On Saturday night I will make history. I will be the first Mexican middleweight champion ever."

It is important to mention that although Mexico holds more world titles than any other county it has never produced a middleweight champ. Chavez faces off against Zbik on Saturday June 4th in Las Vegas.
