Sanchez was the winner of the first season of The Ultimate Fighter reality series after defeating Kenny Florian in the tournament finals. He holds notable victories over Florian, Jorge Santiago, Nick Diaz, Karo Parisyan, Joe Stevenson, Clay Guida, Paulo Thiago, and Martin Kampmann. In his next bout, Sanchez will meet UFC Hall of Famer and former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes at UFC 135.
