There are rumors that former two-division world champion Rafael Marquez (39-6, 34 KOs) will take on his compatriot Eduardo Becerril(12-7-2, 4 KOs) on Saturday night at the Plaza de Toros in Cancun, Mexico. Marquez was originally slated to face the Nicaraguan fighter Eusebo Osejo (19-9-2, 7 KOs) but he withdrew for an unknown reason. According to the source, if Marquez wins, he could fight the WBC super bantamweight champion ToshiakiNishioka in October or November.
The event is being presented by Zanfer Promotions.
