Pumas' defense reverted to its miserable form in a 4-0 plastering by Jagaures. Jackson Martinez and Edgar Andrade were the heroes of the day for the southern side, scoring two goals apiece.
After a good spell of early pressure, Martinez turned home the first goal of the match after 10 minutes, taking advantage of the rebound given up by Miguel Palacios after a scorching shot from Christian Valdez. Andrade made it 2-0 on the 20 minute mark with an excellent free kick and eight minutes later it was 3-0 as Martinez was clearly tripped in the box by Dario Veron and converted the resulting penalty himself, totally fooling Palacios with a sublime chipped penalty.
Pumas' defense was poor throughout the match and could have let in more were it not for Palacios. Martin Bravo had the best chance for Pumas, but it was turned away by Jaguares goalkeeper Edgar Hernandez on the line. Andrade capped off the rout by finishing off a well-worked move to all but seal a playoff spot for Jaguares. The Chiapas-based side will worry about the health of Ismael Fuentes, though, as the Chilean defender bled heavily from the nose after colliding with Javier Cortes and had to be removed with a game with a possible fractured nose.
