The Mexican Football Federation announced late Monday that due to severe pain in his urinary tract has forced Ricardo Osorio to leave the Mexico national team and return to Monterrey for treatment.
With a family history of prostate disease, Mexico's technical and medical staff decided to take no chances in treating the 31-year-old's illness. Osorio has been capped 82 times by El Tri, making appearances at the 2006 and 2010 World Cups. As a 23-year-old, Osorio was a member of the Mexico team that won the 2003 Gold Cup.
Mexico's next match in this year's Gold Cup is on Thursday, in Charlotte, against Cuba.
