The first half of Mexico's Gold Cup opener against El Salvador was good, but for the Mexican national team, the second half was great! Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez scored a second-half hat trick to lead Mexico to a 5-0 rout of El Salvador on Sunday.
Juarez scored the game's first goal after he rebounded his own missed shot. Then Aldo De Nigris made it 2-0 in the 57th minute just a moments after coming on as a substitute. Many have picked Mexico to win their second Gold Cup in as many years. With a showing like last night, it looks like many of those predictions are right on.
Mexico will face Cuba on Thursday, which should produce another strong showing as Cuba lost 5-0 to Costa Rica.
