Mexico Sub-20 Faces Tough Task Against Brazil

Mexico is playing inspired, not just the Sub-20 team, but it seems all of Mexico has been bringing their A game. For tonights Mexico vs. Brazil matchup, El Tri will need to capitalize on their country's unwavering passion, but also bring a big bag of tools to beat the favorite Brazil.

Tonight's meeting between Brazil and Mexico in Pereira promises to be a thrilling and worthy semi-final at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Colombia 2011. El Tri may be outmatched by Brazil, but if they play well, they could defeat the favorites. Mexico has enjoyed one of the most successful summers in international football. If the U-20 team can win the World Cup, it would complete this masterful summer.

Both teams came through their quarter-finals in convincing fashion, even if the Brazilians were taken as far as a penalty shoot-out by Spain. So expect a heavy dose of offense and don't be surprised if we see another game ending shootout.

Mexico midfielder Hector Acosta put it this way,

“We face a huge test now, because we're playing Brazil. They're exceptionally difficult opponents and they play extremely good football. We watched them against Spain, and we're ready for them. We'll need to be focused and we'll have to give our all. We'll concentrate on playing as a team, just as we've done all the way so far.”

The world agrees, Hector. For Mexico to beat Brazil they will need more than just inspired football to the pitch to advance into final, they need offense, focus, and guts.
